Newcastle United sent a scout to watch Galatasaray midfielder Badou Ndiaye against Trabzonspor on Sunday night, according to Sporx.

The Turkish publication reports that three other Premier League clubs were also present at the match with Leicester City, West Ham and Tottenham also sending representatives to see the 27 year old play.

It was however an unhappy evening for Ndiaye with Galatasaray losing their first league game of the season, and the Senegalese international being one of three sent off in the match.

The midfielder only signed from Osmanlispor for €7.5million back in August but he has impressed onlookers with his displays playing further forward in a number ten role under manager Igor Tudor.

Sporx reports that despite only recently buying Ndiaye, Galatasaray may be prepared to sell the player if they receive an offer which is double what they paid (€15million or approximately £13.2m).

The Chronicle report that Magpies boss Rafa Benitez is indeed looking for a number 10 in January but whether Ndiaye would be a good signing, it seems questionable. The midfielder has no goals or assists so far this campaign in ten matches.
