West Ham goalkeeper Adrian has raised the prospect of leaving the London club in the January transfer window.

The 30 year old was reportedly a summer transfer target for Newcastle, and it seems the Spaniard is considering leaving the Hammers after failing to feature in the Premier League this season.

The stopper was handed a two year extension with West Ham back in June when the club triggered their option to extend his contract. Joe Hart was however subsequently signed on loan from Manchester City for the season with the England international now first choice between the sticks.

Speaking about his situation, Adrian was quoted by the Evening Standard as saying he will consider leaving the London stadium:

“There’s a transfer window in December, and after that one, there’s one in the summer. I’ll just have one year left on my contract and we’d have to reach an agreement because it’s clear that I’m not happy with the way things are.”

“I have not received the chances I feel I’ve earned with my performances, but sometimes football is that way and I’ll have to keep on fighting.”

The keeper has played just two matches this season, both coming in the Carabao Cup. He played the full 90 minutes in the second round against Cheltenham Town, and was again picked to start the 3-0 win over Bolton in the third round back in September.
