At the start of this week, Liverpool striker Danny Ings was linked with a loan switch to Newcastle, along with three other clubs.
The 25 year old has struggled with injuries since his £8m switch from Burnley back in 2015, but he has been fighting his way back to full fitness over the past few months.
The England international made his first team comeback in the 2-0 defeat against Leicester City last month in the Carabao Cup. Despite his cameo appearance, he has not managed another minute in Jurgen Klopp’s side since then.
The Sun reports the German manager will consider letting the player leave on loan in the January transfer window. The Magpies will however be joined in the race by Crystal Palace, Southampton and Watford; all of which are keen to strengthen their forward line.
It must be said that most of the Twitter reaction to the reported interest in Ings has been mostly negative, with some having hoped the reports of a takeover would have put to bed such transfer rumours.
Talk of a £500 million kitty one day, then a possible loan deal for Danny Ings the next???

Pure Ashley era signing, fingers crossed he’ll be gone and we can actually pay money for a striker.

You’d like to think about that takeover talk would reduce links like this. Hardly moving up in the world if we’re after Ings on loan
