Newcastle United secured another vital win at the weekend with a narrow victory over Crystal Palace, which saw the Magpies rise to sixth in the Premier League standings- certainly on course to achieve their target of avoiding relegation.
Whilst the result wasn’t as comfortable as fans would have hoped for, it’s a valuable result against a side that was full of confidence after stunning everybody last week to end their winless, and goalless, run with a 2-1 triumph over defending champions Chelsea.
Newcastle certainly brought Roy Hodgson’s side crashing back down to earth on Saturday afternoon and it sees the Magpies win for the first time since mid-September, with their record now standing at an impressive three games without defeat.
Further challenges await, with a tough trip to Burnley this weekend before hosting Bournemouth in another crucial clash at St. James’ Park, and fans have made it clear they don’t want to see one player starting after his poor performance against the Eagles.
Spaniard Ayoze Perez played 66 minutes in the victory over Crystal Palace but failed to make a lasting impression, which left some fans extremely frustrated.
Ayoze Perez is such a luxury player. Well, a luxury player without the luxury. So frustrating.

He is the biggest weak link in our side. Number 10 position is key to Rafa's system but we have no real alternative to Perez there. #NUFC

Seems to be getting worse, a spell out of the first team might do him some good. Maybe the pressure of the fans is getting to him.

Was outstanding last week and yet so poor yesterday. Very frustrating at the moment. Diame played well when he came on. Might be worth a start next week.
