Newcastle United travel to Burnley this evening for a crucial clash at the top of the Premier League table, where both sides are looking to maintain their fabulous starts to the season.

Victory for the Magpies this evening will lift them up to sixth, above Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool, and fans are optimistic of the months ahead- although this evening’s game at Turf Moor will certainly not be easy given Burnley’s form this season.

The absence of Mikel Merino, who is injured, has certainly caused a stir as the Borussia Dortmund loanee has been the star-man of Rafael Benitez’s side so far but fans on social media have questioned another absence, as they’re keen to see Aleksander Mitrovic play.

Serbian ace Mitrovic failed to make the squad, with Joselu starting up front and scoreless Dwight Gayle on the bench, and fans were quick to vent their frustrations following the selection for tonight’s game- with the striker’s absence really hitting a nerve.
