Newcastle United have had a fine start to life back in the Premier League, securing ten points from their opening seven matches, but there’s certainly still a lot of work to be done between now and the end of May if the Tyneside giants are to retain their top-flight status.
One problem for the Magpies so far this season has been a lack of consistency from their forwards, with £5m summer signing Joselu only finding the net twice whilst Aleksandar Mitrovic has provided one goal, having missed matches through suspension. Dwight Gayle, meanwhile, is yet to open his account.
That’s an issue for Newcastle as they need a reliable goalscorer to help cement their status in the Premier League and provide a platform to kick-on, which means that Rafael Benitez may look to sign a new man in the transfer market come January.
