The £5m summer signing may not have been on the scoresheet this week but he did keep Southampton’s defence on their toes for the entirety of the game on the South Coast, with his highlight being hitting the woodwork shortly after the restart.
Joselu may be kicking himself for missing that opportunity though, as Southampton almost immediately pegged Newcastle back to level the scores, but the former Stoke City man showed plenty of promise leading the line.
