Newcastle United are expected to bid again for highly rated Belgium midfielder Dennis Praet next summer after missing out on him this year, reports in Italy suggest.
The Magpies failed to land the 23-year-old during the year, with the midfielder opting to stay at Sampdoria for another season.
However, Praet did not rule out a move to the Premier League in the future, something Newcastle will look to capitalise on by submitting a second bid, believed to be in the region of £18 million for the Serie A star next year.
“I’ve never played in the Premier League but I’d be happy to go there one day.” said Praet earlier this year when responding to speculation over his future in Italy.
“I know Sampdoria received some offers for me, but I didn’t even talk with any other club,” insisted Praet.
“There was no agreement between them.”
Praet has a reported €25 million release clause in his current contract at Sampdoria.
