Newcastle captain Jamaal Lascelles has been included in a shortlist of seven players nominated for September’s ‘Premier League Player of the Month’.

Tottneham’s Harry Kane, who scored six goals last month and is favourite to land the prize, is also included, as are both Alvaro Morata of Chelsea and Manchester United’s Romelu Lukaku, who netted an impressive four times each.

Manchester City duo Sergio Aguero and Kevin De Bruyne, whose form have been vital in seeing City storm to the top of the Premier League, too make the shortlist.

Completing the star studded line-up is Brighton’s Pascal Gross, who scored a brace in the Seasiders first ever top flight win over West Brom last month, and of course Newcastle defender Jamaal Lascelles.

Lascelles scored two winners in a run of three straight wins for the Magpies last month, a run of form that saw Rafael Benitez’s side shoot up to as high as fourth in the table after a disappointing opening few games.

The winner will be decided by public vote and you can have your say by clicking here and registering on the Premier League website.

You can also vote on the Premier League manager of the month award with favourite Pep Guardiola (Manchester City) joined by Mauricio Pochettino (Tottenham), Jose Mourinho (Manchester United) and Arsene Wenger (Arsenal) on the shortlist.
