Newcastle are believed to be one of no fewer than 17 Premier League club’s who sent scouts to watch Celtic duo Moussa Dembele and Kieren Tierney in Champions League action tonight, reports the Daily Record.

The Hoops face Bayern Munich at Celtic Park as they look to kickstart their European campaign following an hit-and-miss start in the continent’s competition.

Brendan Rodger’s side sit third in an incredibly competitive Group B, having won only one of their three games so far. There impressive 3-0 rout on Anderlecht has been clouded by 5-0 and 3-0 thrashing at the hands of PSG and Bayern respectively, and the Glasgow side will be hoping for better this time around at their home stadium.

However, Premier League eyes are not likely to be focused on Celtic’s result, and instead on both Moussa Dembele and Kieren Tierney, who have both become targets for almost all the 20 clubs in England’s top division.

Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea are just a few of those thought to be sending scouts to Glasgow tonight for the Champions League tie.

Dembele, who was only last week called up to the France national team, shot himself to fame last season after he found the net an incredible 32 times in all competitions.

Tierney too impressed last season, and has recently been rewarded with a new six-year-deal at Celtic Park.
