Newcastle United have been given a boost in their pursuit of Besiktas star Cenk Tosun after the club’s president revealed he is willing to sell the striker.

Tosun, who has found the net an impressive 27 times for club and country last season, has been a target for the Magpies as Rafael Benitez looks to bolster his attacking options.

The Turkey international is also thought to be a target for Tottenham Hotspur.

Linked with a move away from the Super Lig giants this summer, it now appears Besiktas would be willing to part ways with their star hitman, if the price is right of course.

“If the proposals are very serious numbers and if we need to sell to benefit the club, we will sell,” Besiktas president Fikret Orman told HaberTurk when addressing rumours of a potential departure for the foward.

“If the proposals arrive in January, we will sit back and talk.”

Tosun has already registered 9 goals in all competitions for Besiktas and his national side this season.
