Newcastle United have started superbly in their return to the Premier League, sitting pretty in the top-half of the table with 12 points to their name- putting them on-course to reach their pre-season target of avoiding relegation.
With talk of a takeover now becoming official, as Mike Ashley has put the club on the market, there’s a growing consensus of exciting things being just around the corner for the Tyneside giants and January could be a crucial month.
Although not guaranteed, Newcastle plan for a sale to be completed before Christmas and the new owners coming in will have to appease fans, and Rafael Benitez, by offering funds in the January window to strengthen the squad.
Signings these days are expensive, especially when you’re eyeing a top-class player, so plans need to be ironed out now to make deals possible- and these players should be top of Newcastle’s wish-list.
