DeAndre Yedlin has hailed the Newcastle United fans for their ‘unbelievable’ support following the Magpies 1-0 defeat to Brighton at the weekend.

Rafael Benitez’s side lost for the first time in three Premier League games courtesy of a second half Tomer Hemed strike.

Despite the defeat, the travelling Toon army were in full voice as always, and Yedlin says their support does not go un-noticed by himself and the other players.

“Their support is unbelievable but we notice it and thank them for it,” the American defender said.

“We can hear them during the game and hopefully we can put on a great show for them at the weekend.

“We need to get the momentum going again before the international break.”

Newcastle sold their full allocation of away tickets for the trip to the Amex Stadium on Sunday despite the game being broadcast on television, and the players can expect a similar sell-out when they face Liverpool at St James’ Park at the weekend.
