Newcastle United may struggle to keep their hands on their top-class manager Rafael Benitez and speculation persists once again, with West Ham United reporting interested and the Magpies trying to negotiate a new deal with their Spanish boss.

The former Liverpool and Real Madrid manager clashed with chairman Mike Ashley during the course of the summer due to an absence of funds being made available and that’s likely to be discussed in contract negotiations, though Ashley may still be reluctant to invest due to his quest to sell the club.

Therefore, there’s a strong chance that Benitez could walk away, especially as he has a release clause of only £5.5m, and Newcastle need to start exploring alternative options should their boss decide to seek a new venture elsewhere.

Finding a manager capable of replacing Benitez won’t be easy but there are some decent options out there, including the three with identified here.
