Newcastle United may well find themselves in a sticky position as there is continued speculation surrounding the future of manager Rafael Benitez, who has regularly been linked with the likes of West Ham United.
The Magpies preference is to keep Benitez at St. James’s Park, with discussions underway regarding a new deal, but the fact that his current contract has a £5.5m release-clause is a cause for concern- particularly after the Spanish boss clashed with chairman Mike Ashley in the summer.
Newcastle may well find things out of their hands and they need to start making preparations for who could replace their current boss- and there’s a well-known manager north of the border who could be a fantastic appointment.
