According to the Chronicle, Newcastle United’s young goalkeeper, Freddie Woodman, is attracting interest from elsewhere in the Premier League.

After helping the England U20s win the World Cup for their age group, both Everton and Crystal Palace are understood to be keen on the burgeoning shot stopper, who is believed to be keen on being loaned to gain some first-team experience.

He’s already spent time with the likes of Crawley and Scottish side Heart of Midlothian are said to be eager to land him, though both Premier League rivals could force the Magpies to fend off serious interest before deadline day.

Indeed, the Toon Army have already seen a promising youngster leave Tyneside this summer, with highly-rated defender Lewis Gibson joining the Toffees. However, Woodman only penned a new deal in black and white last summer, leaving Newcastle in a much stronger position.

Much has been made about the Toon’s goalkeeping department this summer. Tim Krul and Karl Darlow have both seen their futures cast into doubt at varying points throughout the summer, with Rafa Benitez thought to have chased the likes of Pepe Reina and Willy Caballero.

Losing Woodman would be a disaster. A hugely talented young ‘keeper, we’ve seen how much the likes of Jordan Pickford can go for in the market, so losing him at this age for a much smaller fee would be very bad business indeed.
