As reported by the Chronicle, Newcastle United youngster Macaulay Gillesphey is attracting interest from teams in both England and Scotland.

The talented 21-year-old is said to have started training with Rafa Benitez’s first-team of late following injuries to both Paul Dummett and Florian Lejeune, though another loan move is reportedly expected.

He’s spent the last two seasons on loan with Carlise and Doncaster Rovers on League One are now understood to have taken an interest in his situation at St. James’ Park.

Indeed, two teams in the Scottish Premiership are also believed to be keen on a move for the academy graduate, who made his first-team debut back in 2015 against Liverpool in the FA Cup.

The Scottish outfits are not mentioned by name, though the notion of moving north of the border to aid his development is said to be a realistic one, before the Magpies decide on whether or not to hand him a new deal.
