According to the Chronicle, Newcastle United are NOT interested in bringing Robert Snodgrass to the club this summer.

The Scotsman was reportedly told he can leave east London after struggling to wholly convince after joining from Hull City earlier this year. Indeed, St. James’ Park has been touted as a potential landing spot for the 29-year-old as far back as January, and recent reports suggested he’d be keen on the Magpies.

However, in yesterday’s transfer blog, Mark Douglas reveals that there is no interest in the former Leeds United man, who has also been linked with a move to Sunderland.

Though options are light on the ground for Rafa Benitez, he does have a few players who can operate in similar positions to Snodgrass. The likes of Jacob Murphy, Christian Atsu, Matt Ritchie and Rolando Aarons can operate as wingers, while Ayoze Perez, Siem De Jong and Mo Diame can be deployed at No.10.

While the Hammers outcast is a good player – as he proved with the Tigers during the first half of last season – investing in other areas may be wiser for Newcastle United.
