According to the Sun, Newcastle United manager Rafa Benitez has been offered Jack Wilshere on loan this summer.

It’s been a difficult summer for the Magpies as they’ve looked to improve upon a squad that won the Championship last term and few would doubt Wilshere would give the 57-year-old more options in central midfield.

Creativity outside of Jonjo Shelvey proved to be a problem on Tyneside last season and the Arsenal outcast excels when given time on the ball to create something out of nothing.

However, there are understood to be concerns in regards to his injury problems. Indeed, the 26-year-old has missed out on a regular starting berth over the past few years for both club and country with constant niggles and would surely be on some pretty big wages in North London.

After failing to pull up any trees while on loan with Bournemouth last term, the England international would certainly be a risk.

With Newcastle likely to be up against it, he’s probably not one worth taking.
