Moussa Sissoko returns to St. James’ Park today for the first time since leaving Newcastle United for Tottenham Hotspur just over a year ago.
The Frenchman was sold for around £30m in August 2016 after a dreadful couple seasons on Tyneside and remains a hugely unpopular figure amongst the Toon Army.
Having seemingly agitated for moves for much of his time in black and white, the fact he’s since struggled in north London has gone down rather well in Newcastle, particularly because of the fee they received for him.
So, his return to the North East for Tottenham was always likely to spark reaction online. His last game at the stadium was for the Toon Army, who beat his current employers 5-1 just over a year ago, though so much has changed for all involved since.
