Paul Dummett’s injury has left Newcastle United with a defensive problem already.

The Welshman may have his critics, though is clearly Rafa Benitez’s first choice left-back and the fact he’ll likely miss a few weeks with a hamstring ailment is far from an ideal situation, especially in preparation for a Huddersfield Town side packed with plenty of pace.

While the Magpies could certainly do with strengthening in that area (how often have we said that?) there are some options available to Benitez ahead of Sunday. Indeed, Ciaran Clark was moved over to the left-hand side of a back four against Tottenham Hotspur and fared reasonably well.

There’s also Jesus Gamez, who has had to wait for his chances since joining from Atletico Madrid last summer, as well as the outcast Massaidio Haidara.

Achraf Lazaar’s time on Tyneside looks to be up, though even Christian Atsu could act as a left sided wing-back if Clark, Jamaal Lascelles and Chancel Mbemba are deployed in a defensive three.

With all this in mind, who gets your vote to start at left-back against Huddersfield Town, assuming a new signing isn’t brought into start on Sunday?
