According to the Daily Mail, Newcastle United would consider using Karl Darlow as a potential makeweight in a deal to bring West Ham United star Adrian to St. James’ Park.

The Hammers star has been touted as a potential target on Tyneside, though the east London outfit are not thought to want to sell the 30-year-old without first bringing in a replacement. The arrival of Joe Hart at the London Stadium will surely impact his first-team minutes, though the Irons let Darren Randolph join Middlesbrough earlier in the summer.

Indeed, Crystal Palace are another said to be keen on the Spaniard, though could reportedly turn their attention to PSV stopper Jeroen Zoet instead.

Linking up with Rafa Benitez apparently appeals to Adrian and the Toon chief looks set to shake up his options between the posts this summer.

Darlow, a popular figure amongst supporters, had been linked with a move to Boro too, after starring for the Magpies during their promotion-winning campaign from the Championship last term.

It’s unclear as to why the former Nottingham Forest man would be allowed to depart, though Adrian is proven in the Premier League.
