Former Newcastle United midfielder Olivier Kemen has taken to Instagram to remember his time with the Toon Army, declaring he will one day be back.

Now with Lyon, the Frenchman left St. James’ Park late on in the window of summer 2015 after failing to make a first-team appearance in black and white, after joining from Metz two years earlier.

The Cameroon-born central midfielder has since spent time on loan with Ajaccio in the French second tier, making his first-team debut with Lyon back in 2016 and is now valued at £1.13m by Transfermarkt.

While his time in black and white barely got off the ground, the 21-year-old took to his Instagram account to reveal he missed the club and vowed to return, before claiming ‘once a Geordie always a Geordie’ while uploading various photos of him in youth action, as well as training.

There’ve been no links touting his potential return since he departed, though the young midfielder seems to be keen on the Magpies.

Will Kemen return?
