Newcastle are still in the market for Adrian.

According to a report in The Chronicle the West Ham keeper is still on course for a move to St James’ Park.

Adrian shared goalkeeping duties with Darren Randolph last season but Joe Hart’s arrival has pushed him into the sidelines.

Despite having Tim Krul and Karl Darlow at the club Rafa Benitez wants to bring in another goalkeeper to compete with Rob Elliot for a place in the team.

Ambitious moves for Hart, Willy Caballero and Pepe Reina have proved unsuccessful with Adrian a more realistic target.

Slaven Bilic would be happy to keep Adrian as back up to Hart but understands the Spaniards desire for first team football.

One possible solution could be an exchange deal involving Darlow which could solve two problems at once for the Newcastle boss as he tries to assemble the sort of squad needed to cope with the return of Premier League football.
