Newcastle United are yet to get off the mark in the Premier League after suffering a defeat at the hands of fellow newly-promoted side, Huddersfield Town.
Though the Magpies did improve upon a largely awful first 15 minutes at the John Smith’s Stadium, Rafa Benitez’s side looked bereft of any attacking ideas as Terriers star Aaron Mooy proved the difference with a decent effort just after the interval.
Indeed, though Joselu provided much more of a focal point up front after coming on for Dwight Gayle just before the hour mark, it just wasn’t enough for the Toon Army.
On the evidence of the first two games it's going to be a long, hard season for @nufc #HUDNEW

While it’s far too early to making predictions for the long and arduous campaign ahead, it does look like being a long season for Newcastle United.
Alan Shearer has taken to Twitter to predict that very thing. Posting in reaction to the Toon’s loss, the club’s record goalscorer seems to think battles lie ahead for Newcastle.
