As revealed by the Daily Mail, Newcastle United expect to tie up a loan deal for Chelsea wide man Kenedy this week.

The Brazilian is thought to have been close to joining the Toon Army last week, though was included in Antonio Conte’s first match day squad of the campaign. However, that will surely be down to the lack of bodies available to the Italian right now, rather than hinting at a long-term future for the 21-year-old.

Stamford Bridge technical director Michael Emenalo is said to be willing to let him leave this summer.

Indeed, a loan move for striker Michy Batshuayi is believed to be a tad too expensive for the Toon Army, though Kenedy’s arrival will go some way into strengthening Rafa Benitez’s options.

Able to operate up and down the left-hand side of the pitch, the Brazilian is somewhat of an unknown quantity on these shores, though has shown glimpses of real talent during the few appearances he’s made for the Blues.

He’ll likely follow Mikel Merino to St. James’ Park as the second loan signing of Newcastle United’s summer.
