Newcastle are prepared to bide their time to get Sheyi Ojo in on loan.
According to a report in The Chronicle Rafa Benitez is still in talks with Liverpool about a season long loan even though Jurgen Klopp wants to work with the player in pre-season.
Ojo spent the first half of last season on loan at Wolves but returned to Anfield in January after starting just five Championship matches.
Benitez is keen to add width to his side with the 20-year-old high on his transfer wish list.
In January the Newcastle boss thought that he had agreed a deal with Crystal Palace to sign up Andros Townsend but that move slipped by as the transfer window closed.
Benitez has a couple of other options in mind to play out wide but the on-going talks with Liverpool suggest that Ojo is a priority.
Jurgen Klopp will decide over the net couple of weeks whether Ojo can make a contribution to his side or whether a season at Newcastle can provide the first team football that he requires.
