Rafa Benitez has told Achraf Lazaar that he has no future with Newcastle United.
According to a report in The Chronicle the defender is free to leave the club alongside Tim Krul and Henri Saivet.
Lazaar was signed from Palermo a year ago but never started a single match in the Championship as Newcastle raced to promotion.
Rafa Benitez is looking to trim upto half a dozen players from his squad with the 25 year old informed that he has no future at the club.
Unfortunately for Newcastle Lazaar is sitting on a contract that runs until 2021 with the player unlikely to walk away from such a lucrative deal.
Newcastle would rather avoid making a pay off but unless a loan deal can be sorted to the players satisfaction the club may have to stump up with Lazaar likely to head back to Italy where he enjoyed reasonable success during three seasons with Palermo.
