Galatasaray are ready to outbid Newcastle for Fernando.

According to a report on TalkSPORT the Turkish side are close to agreeing personal terms with the out of favour Manchester City midfielder.

Fernando was left out of the City squad that travelled to the United States to take part in the International Champions Cup and has been told that he has no future under Pep Guardiola.

The 29-year-old joined City from Porto three years ago and has the sort of experience that Rafa Benitez is looking for to re-establish Newcastle in the Premier League.

It’s believed that Galatasaray have upped their personal offer from £2.7m to £3.5m for the Brazilian with Newcastle unlikely to put in a counter offer.

Last season Newcastle were linked with Tom Cairney and Tom Ince but both midfielders have signed new deals during the close season, Cairney extending his Fulham deal and Ince joining Huddersfield from Derby.
