Malaga striker Sandro Ramirez will sign for Atletico Madrid if the Spanish club can get their transfer embargo lifted through the courts, according to the Estadio Deportivo newspaper.

Atletico have taken FIFA to the Court of Arbitration for Sport over the ban and a decision is expected in June before the summer transfer window begins.

Newcastle, Everton and Tottenham are all believed to be keen on the forward who has a €6million buyout clause in his contract. It looks likely however that the 21 year old will remain in Spain rather than move abroad in the summer.

The Magpies are said to be keen to strengthen upfront, and Ramirez’s 14 goals in 29 La Liga games has no doubt brought him to the attention of boss Rafa Benitez.

If Atletico fail to get their transfer ban lifted, Newcastle could still be in with a chance although it is likely that another Spanish club will then become favourites to sign the former Barcelona player.
