Newcastle are among a number of Premier League clubs showing interest in Yaya Toure.

According to a report in The Sun the Manchester City midfielder will make a decision on his future based on where he is most likely to get game time rather than the highest offer.

If it was all about money Toure would head to China but the midfielder feels that he has another two years to offer playing at the top level of the game.

Despite being frozen out of Pep Guardiola’s side at the start of the season Toure has been offered a new 12 month deal and has made close to 30 appearances as City look to confirm a place in next season’s Champions League.

With a raft of new faces expected at the Etihad this summer Toure could be used sparingly but would be given a central role at St James’ Park.

Newcastle have been linked with a variety of midfielders including Michael Carrick but if Toure became available he’d clearly be a priority signing for Rafa Benitez.

Critical to any offer will be the outcome of talks between Benitez and Mike Ashley about what sort of transfer funds will be made available to compete in next season’s Premier League.
