Newcastle are interested in signing Guingamp winger Marcus Coco, according to the Sun, but they will face competition from Southampton and Stoke City.

The paper reports that his club are resigned to losing him in the summer, and they expect he will make a move to England at the end of the campaign.

The 20 year old has been on Rafa Benitez’s radar for a while and it looks like the Magpies are now ready to make a move for a player who could cost up to £10million.

Coco can play either as a winger or as an attacking full back, but the Frenchman has been used exclusively in more attacking positions this season, playing right across the front line, with appearances on the right wing, through the middle, and on the left hand side.

A right footed player, his best position is on the left, cutting in from the flank, using his pace to frighten defences. This season, he has made 34 appearances for Guingamp, scoring four goals and providing two assists.
