Newcastle midfielder Daniel Barlaser could be set for a move to Besiktas in the summer, according to Fanatik.

The Turkish publication reports that the Turkish champions have been offered the 20 year old by the player’s management team, and the Chronicle also confirmed that a number of other Turkish clubs have been tracking the central midfielder.

Although born in the United Kingdom, Barlaser is also eligible to play for Turkey, and has featured for the national side at Under 16 and Under 17 level.

The player was due to go out on loan during the January transfer window but manager Rafa Benitez decided he should stay on Tyneside with the club struggling with a number of injuries.

He made his senior debut in the FA Cup against Birmingham City in January, playing the full 90 minutes on the left wing in the 3-1 victory. He followed that up by being named on the bench for the league match against Rotherham three days later, and then played again in the 3-0 defeat to Oxford United in the fourth round of the FA Cup.

Barlaser hasn’t featured in the first team squad since then though, but he has played regularly for Peter Beardsley’s Under 23 side throughout the season.
