Newcastle midfielder Daniel Barlaser has agreed a new deal to stay with the Magpies, according to Football Insider.

The former Turkish Under 17 international has been heavily linked with a move to Besiktas in recent weeks but it seems any speculation about a move away from St James’ Park can now firmly be put to bed after this latest development.

The 20 year old was previously on a deal that lasted until the summer of 2020 after signing his first professional contract in 2015. Football Insider report documents registered with the FA suggest Barlaser signed a new deal at the end of last month.

The midfielder has made his breakthrough into the Newcastle first team this season with manager Rafa Benitez having picked Barlaser to play in two rounds of the FA Cup, against Birmingham City and Oxford United, back in January. He has yet to make any further appearances for the Magpies but he continues to be a regular at Under 23 level, having played 20 Premier League 2 games this campaign.
