Newcastle are among a number of clubs scouting Nice midfielder Wylan Cyprien, according to the Sunday People (via the Daily Star).
The Magpies have joined a long list of admirers for the 22 year old with Arsenal, Tottenham, Leicester City, Everton and Southampton all reportedly having looked at the Frenchman.
It is unlikely a move from Nice will take place any time soon though as Cyprien sustained a serious injury playing for Nice on Friday night. The midfielder was substituted on the hour mark in the 2-2 draw against Caen after sustaining an anterior cruciate knee ligament injury which will rule him out of action for a number of months.
Cyprien has helped Nice keep pace with Monaco and Paris Saint-Germain at the top of the Ligue One table. In 34 matches in all competitions so far this season, the central midfielder has scored nine goals, and provided three assists. Due to his injury however, his season will end earlier than expected.
