Well, here we are, after the January transfer window slammed with no new signings to boast of and having been humbled in the FA Cup to League One Oxford United.

You’d be forgiven for thinking there’s been a crisis at Newcastle United of late, though the Magpies remain three points clear of the playoffs and have welcomed the likes of Mo Diame and Chancel Mbemba back from the African Cup of Nations in the last few days.

So, tonight, Rafa Benitez’s Toon Army host QPR in a return to Championship action and a win is required after Reading closed the gap between the two promotion hopefuls to just three points. With that in mind, the Spaniard has (expectedly) made a raft of changes to the side battered at the Kassam Stadium on Saturday.

Crucially, the excellent Jonjo Shelvey returns to the starting XI to give an extra dimension to the black and white cause, while there are also starts for Karl Darlow and a certain Daryl Murphy.

See the team in full blow!
