According to the Sunday People (via HITC), Newcastle United are casting keen eyes over Harry Maguire’s situation at Hull City as they plot a return to the Premier League.
With Rafa Benitez’s side looking well-placed (for now) for a return to the proverbial Promised Land at the first time of asking, they are reportedly looking for players to help them re-establish themselves in the top flight.
Maguire has been an impressive figure within the Tigers’ backline has previously been linked with moves to Tottenham Hotspur and Southampton. Despite the fact those on Humberside have been battling towards the lower end of the league for much of the season, the 23-year-old has been a major part of their rival under Marco Silva.
However, they could still be relegated and the former Sheffield United giant has just 18 months to run on his deal, apparently sparking interest from St. James’ Park. Ciaran Clark and Jamaal Lascelles have formed a solid partnership thus far, though the options outside of that pair are somewhat limited.
