F0llowing his antics against Newcastle United at the City Ground back in December, it’s fair to say Nottingham Forest captain Henri Lansbury is barely the most popular figure amongst the Toon Army.
After playing a huge part in getting both Jonjo Shelvey and Paul Dummett sent off as the Reds ran out 2-1 winners at the City Ground, the midfielder certainly provoked debate amongst the St. James’ Park faithful. So, considering the feeling towards Aston Villa and their fans in recent years, you can imagine the reaction shown by social media users following the news the former Arsenal ace was closing in on a move to Villa Park.
Not that Villa, led by former Sunderland chief Steve Bruce these days of course, need their visit to Tyneside on the 20th February hyped up any further, but the idea they could be fielding the 26-year-old (who conveniently missed Forest’s game in the North East back on December 30th) makes the tie all the more mouth-watering.
With that in mind, here’s how Newcastle fans on Twitter reacted to his seemingly likely move.
