According to a report in Croatian outlet Sportske Novosti, Newcastle United have seen a €30m bid (roughly £25m) bid for TWO European wonder kids turned down by Dinamo Zagreb.

The Magpies are said to have made an offer to bring both playmaker Ante Coric, a Croatian international, and defender Filip Benković to St. James’ Park from the country’s capital.

Coric, in particular, has been linked with big moves to the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City in recent months and played for his nation at Euro 2016. An exceptionally talented playmaker, the 19-year-old would be a huge coup to the black and white cause.

Compared to Luka Modric – who, of course, almost signed for the Toon Army all those years ago – he is one of the top burgeoning attacking talents on the continent.

Both talents are 19 years of age and central defender Benkovic has previously been linked with a move to Celtic, so it’s easy to see why there is reported interest. Still, Zagreb are thought to have snubbed the offer so far as they believe the pair can be huge players in the side for years to come.
