After a rather dull FA Cup clash with Birmingham City, it’s a return to league action for Newcastle United as they travel to Griffin Park to face a Brentford side reportedly on the verge of losing their best player.

When the two sides met at St. James’ Park, a Dwight Gayle brace helped the home side on their way to a 3-1 victory, with the Bees’ only real chance of ever leading on Tyneside coming through a Scott Hogan header.

Well, he could have left west London by then, though a lot has changed for the Magpies since.

Some stuttering league form of late has seen them surrender top spot to Brighton and Hove Albion and the loss to Blackburn Rovers prior to their cup exploits highlighted the frailties that remain at large in Rafa Benitez’s Toon side.

With that in mind, here are TWO players who really should be dropped for Saturday’s game at Brentford, going off their last starting eleven in the Championship.
