According to the Daily Mail, both Sunderland and Newcastle United are amongst the interested parties in Leicester City winger Tom Lawrence.

Currently on loan with Ipswich, the 23-year-old is understood to have attracted interest from all over the Championship following his performances for an otherwise pretty average Tractor Boys side. The likes of Cardiff City, Norwich City and Derby County are also said to be keen.

Meanwhile, Burnley and the Toon’s bitter rival, Sunderland, could reportedly make a move for the Wales international, said to be valued at just £1m by the Premier League champions.

He’s made four appearances for the Dragons, though wasn’t included in their Euro 2016 squad, though has impressed for Mick McCarthy’s side of late. Rafa Benitez is desperately short of options to provide creativity in both midfield and on the wings, so perhaps Lawrence could be a reasonably cheap option.

The Magpies are thought to have missed out on a move for Andros Townsend, leaving the Spaniard with little options heading into the closing stages of the window.
