Jack Colback

Before his stunning form towards the end of last season, exactly what Vurnon Anita offered Newcastle’s midfield was often queried and questioned in equal measure.

However, since the Dutchman reverted to right-back, the exact same thing should be asked of Jack Colback.

He never goes forward, he never sits and breaks up play and often goes about his work in the engine room frantically, giving away needless fouls.

Perhaps dropping him and giving Anita a central midfield berth, placing DeAndre Yedlin at right-back would be a good way to go.
