Former Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew is looking to reunite with defender Paul Dummett in January, according to the Chronicle

Now in charge of Crystal Palace of course, the Welshman is reportedly of interest to the south London club ahead of the New Year sales.

Pardew is believed to want a left-sided defender to further round out his squad at Selhurst Park, with the 25-year-old certainly fitting that bill.

He handed the academy graduate his debut in black and white, though Rafa Benitez has largely relied on him as his starting left-back all season.

Summer signing Achraf Lazaar will depart for the African Cup of Nations in January, while Massaido Haidara continues to struggle with injuries on Tyneside.

The report suggests it would take a big bid from the Premier League strugglers to steal Dummett away, such is his importance at St. James’ Park these days.
