We, as Newcastle United fans, know all too well the pitfalls of modern day footballers.
Though many of the wrongs that led to the Toon’s relegation last season are currently in the process of being put right, there’s little doubt the Magpies were at perhaps their lowest ebb in recent memory at times last term.
Over the course of the summer, the likes of Georginio Wijnaldum and Moussa Sissoko were at their most dislikeable, as they desperately forced moves away from Tyneside, despite doing little to even help prevent relegation.
So, isn’t it lovely to have a cult-hero who genuinely loves being here?
The unmistakable Aleksandar Mitrovic has been a popular figure at St. James’ Park ever since his arrival from Anderlecht last summer, constantly stating his love for the fans.
Perhaps a cynic would say the 22-year-old simply knows what buttons to push in order to keep the fans onside, though a heart-warming video has emerged on Twitter.

The forward, when playing for his former club Partizan Belgrade, is simply asked by an interviewer who his favourite club outside of Crno-beli was.
