A big money signing last year, Newcastle United flop Florian Thauvin has seemingly departed Tyneside for good this time.
After a dreadful six months in black and white, French outlet Cheap JerseysLa Provence has revealed that Marseille have taken up their option in permanently bringing the winger back to the Stade Velodrome.
Though the former Bastia prodigy can not wholly be blamed for the dismal season the club endured last term, he did little to excite at St. James’ Park.
Aside from a sterling debut against Northampton Town in the League Cup, the 23-year-old did very little of note indeed.
So, as you can well imagine, his exit on a permanent basis hasn’t exactly led to shed tears from the club’s online support.
In fact, it’s largely been quite the opposite as many are delighted the Toon received a relatively large chunk of what they shelled out for him initially.
With that in mind, here’s how Twitter reacted.

Thauvin has been Marseille’s best player so far this season. He’s been creative and showing his potential.
