Following the international break, high-flying Newcastle United take on fellow in-form Championship outfit Leeds United in a sell-out clash at Elland Road.

It’s a huge tie for both sides as the unforgiving fixture list pits two of the biggest sides in the division in what promises to be a huge clash on a cold day in Yorkshire.

As big a game as it is for the traveling Toon Army, the Whites have another small matter of a trip to Anfield to take on Liverpool in the EFL Cup quarter-finals little over a week after the Magpies come to town.

Speaking ahead of a huge week for Garry Monk and his side, forward Chris Wood has told the Daily Star he believes the clash with the Tyneside will be MORE difficult than a visit to the Kop.

“[Playing at Anfield is] something everybody looks forward to, it’s a massive game,” Wood said of the Liverpool clash”, he said.

“But we have a huge game before that against Newcastle with a sell-out crowd, that is going to be the tougher one before we go to Anfield.

“At least when you go there you can just express yourself and enjoy the moment, it makes it a bit easier.”

The Kiwi international has been in fine fettle this term, notching a whopping 11 goals in 19 games thus far as the former Swansea City coach makes quite the impression in Leeds following a difficult start to the campaign.
