Though Rafa Benitez conducted the biggest Newcastle United overhaul in recent memory over the course of the summer, reports from Ireland suggest the Spaniard could continue in January.

According to the Irish Sun, the Toon Army are ready to splash £10m on Republic of Ireland international Alan Judge, when the transfer window opens for the New Year sales.

The 27-year-old is still recovering from a broken leg picked up earlier this year, but could provide a breath of fresh air during the arduous Championship campaign.

Though the Magpies boast a wealth of options in attacking roles, the former Blackburn Rovers playmaker would be a big addition.

Particularly at that stage of the campaign, with the Tyneside titans expected to be challenging at the top end of the table.

Like it or loathe it, the former Liverpool and Real Madrid coach uses a rotation policy, meaning the Brentford man’s arrival would take his attacking options up a level.

With that in mind, here are THREE reasons Alan Judge’s signing could be a masterstroke for Newcastle.
