Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez has told reporters that there has yet to be an official approach for Moussa Sissoko despite the intense speculation surrounding the Frenchman’s future at the club.

Real Madrid and Juventus have both been heavily linked with the 26 year old in recent weeks but Benitez revealed that all of the transfer talk has not led to any formal offers. He is quoted by the Evening Chronicle as saying:

“Moussa is training well and we don’t have any official offers on the table, a lot of speculation from agents and media but nothing on the table officially. If he goes hopefully it will be the right price for us but if he stays I will be delighted.”

Although Real Madrid have been talked about in the local papers the Evening Chronicle and the Shields Gazette, it must be said the speculation regarding the Spanish club’s interest has not been reported that heavily in the Spanish media with Madrid newspaper Marca even printing an article a couple of days ago emphatically saying Real are not considering a bid for Sissoko. The France international’s agent has been pushing for a move all summer but currently it looks like clubs are not interested in meeting the Magpies’ valuation of the player.
