Newcastle attacking midfielder Siem De Jong’s nightmare stay on Tyneside could be set to come to an end, according to reports from his native Holland. Goal.com Netherlands believe that the Dutchman is interesting Eredivisie champions PSV Eindhoven.

De Jong’s brother Luuk De Jong (who also briefly played for Newcastle on loan from Borussia Monchengladbach in 2014) is currently playing for the Dutch side, and PSV are keen for the pair to link up.

Siem De Jong has spent the majority of his 2 years at Newcastle on the treatment table and has failed to make a significant impact in the first team even when fit. Goal.com are reporting that PSV are keen on bringing in the 27 year old initially on loan so they can assess the player’s fitness. When asked about the former Dutch international by the website, PSV technical manager Marcel Brands refused to discuss the speculation and would not be drawn on the rumours.
