Newcastle United striker Emmanuel Riviere could leave on loan this summer, according to both France Football magazine and the Newcastle Evening Chronicle.

Any loan deal would require the option to buy the 26 year old who was bought from Monaco for £6million back in the summer of 2014. The forward has struggled for both fitness and form during his short time on Tyneside and it is believed that there are three clubs interested in taking the Frenchman.

Bundesliga side Hamburg, Greek club Olympiakos and French side Stade Rennais are all believed to want Riviere on loan. Rennes in particular are interested in recruiting another forward with the Ligue One season starting this weekend, and after allowing Swedish international Ola Toivonen to leave the club for Toulouse. Riviere made just six appearance last campaign and didn’t score a goal. In total, the Frenchman has made 29 league appearances, scoring just once in his two years with the Magpies.
